Abstract:
PURPOSE: To quickly sort out an article by grade in a small space by deciding one by one quality ranks to which the quality measurement values of articles measured sequentially belong, for at least, two different quality levels and determining the grade based on the decided quality rank.
CONSTITUTION: If each article detector 42-1 to 42-6 detects an article 2 being transported by a transfer conveyor 1, each quality measurement means 31 to 36 which corresponds to the article detectors, measures the varying quality of the article 2 and outputs a quality measurement signal. Then the quality ranks, to which the quality measurement value of the article 2 obtained by sequential measurement in accordance with the previously decided quality ranks corresponding to the degree of each quality, belongs, are determined sequentially for at least, two different quality levels. In addition, the grade of each article 2 is determined based on the quality ranks set for at least two different quality levels. Consequently, it is possible to automatically sort out articles of various grades by a predetermined grading.
