Abstract:
To provide a method for analyzing selenium capable of simply and accurately quantifying selenium in an aqueous solution.SOLUTION: A method for analyzing selenium in water using an inductive coupling plasma emission spectrometer comprises: an acidification step S1 of subjecting a sample solution to acidifying to prepare an acidified solution; a reduction step S2 of reducing the acidified solution A to prepare a reduced solution B; and a selenium measurement step S3 of generating hydrogen selenide from the reduced solution B to introduce the hydrogen selenide into inductive coupling plasma and quantify selenium. The acidification step S1 includes condensing the sample solution to prepare a concentrated solution of 1 mL or more and 5 mL or less and adding nitric acid to the concentrated solution and leaving the mixture to prepare the acidified solution A. Since it is not necessary to ascertain a heating state when performing thermal decomposition such as the prior art when analyzing selenium in the sample solution, pretreatment operation can be easily performed compared with the conventional analysis method.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
