To provide a self-aligning pulley preventing the meandering of an endless belt, and to provide a belt conveyor comprising the self-aligning pulley.
This belt conveyor 1 has a pair of self-aligning pulleys 20, and the endless belt 10 is hung between the pair of self-aligning pulleys. One of the self-aligning pulleys 20 is functioned as a driving pulley and comprises a driving device 80 such as a motor. The other self-aligning pulley 20 is functioned as a driven pulley. The two self-aligning pulleys 20 are supported by a bearing device not shown in a drawing. The self-aligning pulleys 20 respectively have a shaft 21, a spherical sliding bearing 50 mounted on a central part of the shaft 21, a cylindrical drum 30 mounted on an outer peripheral part of the shaft 21 and connecting members 40 connected on both end parts of the drum 30 for connecting the drum 30 and the shaft 21. The connecting member 40 is formed by bending a flexible material such as neoprene rubber into the U-shape. The torque is transmitted between the shaft 21 and the drum, and the shaft 21 and a rotating shaft of the drum 30 are deviated from each other to be self-aligned.
