Abstract:
To provide a self cleaning centrifugal pellet dryer and a method for removing surface moisture from pellets and enabling the complete removal of all pellets from the dryer after each drying cycle in which a contamination of different type pellets dried during a subsequent drying cycle is avoided by eliminating dried pellets remaining in the dryer.
Pressurized air and water are discharged from a nozzle 54 toward a pellet hang-up point in the dryer and remaining pellets can be removed.
