Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a self-diagnostic circuit of an open collector type rotation sensor which detects a short circuit abnormality of the rotation sensor to report it.SOLUTION: The self-diagnostic circuit of the open collector type rotation sensor includes: a detection circuit 3 which detects a first signal output from a collector terminal of a first switch element Q1 and a second signal output from a collector terminal of a second switch element Q2; a switch element Q3 having a control terminal to input a short circuit detection signal so as to determine whether the collector terminals of the first switch element Q1 and the second switch element Q2 are short-circuited; and a control circuit 4 which outputs the short circuit detection signal to the control terminal, setting it at a high level, during a short circuit detection time of one or more cycles of the first or second signal at a start time of the short circuit detection and determines that the collector terminals of the first switch element Q1 and the second switch element Q2 are short-circuited when the first signal and the second signal are at a low level during the short circuit detection time.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
