Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a self guide reamer which can improve lubricating properties of a guide pad, can reduce the roughness of the working face, and can improve the roundness and the concentricity of a working hole.
SOLUTION: The self guide reamer 1 has a tool body 10. An unillustrated lubricating oil mist supply hole is extended along the axial direction inside the tool body 10. The guide pad 20 is mounted to the outer peripheral part of the tool body 10. A prescribed hard carbon thin film is coated on the surface of the guide pad 20. However, if required, such a hard carbon thin film may be coated on the side face of the guide pad 20. A hydrogen atom amount of the hard carbon thin film is ≤ 1 atom %. The hard carbon thin film is a DLC thin film formed by a PVD method.
