The self-learning type operation substitute programs 4-8 animation-displays 21 the state of the substitute function on the screen of a display device. A user requests the execution of the function desired by the user himself or herself to an animation-displayed substitute function 4. The substitute function 4 displays 22 the candidate list of programs corresponding to the desired function in response to the request, and successively narrows down the candidates based on an instruction from the user, and selects and starts the program corresponding to the function desired by the user. In this process, the substitute function 4 displays the progressing situation of the processing on the display screen 14 in an animation format in which the expression configuration is successively changed according to the progressing situation.
