Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a self-priming pump that can secure a high self-priming performance and shorten a self-priming time, and a method for controlling the self-priming pump.SOLUTION: A self-priming pump relating to one embodiment comprises: a pump unit having impellers rotating with a rotating shaft; a motor for driving the rotating shaft of the pump unit; a self-priming chamber for performing self-priming; a pressure detection unit for detecting a discharge pressure in a casing; a flow rate detection unit for detecting a flow rate passing through the casing; and a control unit for performing a self-priming high-speed operation in which an output frequency of a control unit is set to 110% or more and 150% or less of a rated maximum frequency in the steady discharge pressure constant control, when the detection pressure is not more than a pump start pressure and the detection flow rate is not more than a stop flow rate, based on the detection pressure detected by the pressure detection unit and the detection flow rate detected by the flow rate detection unit.
