Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a self-priming pump in which self-priming time is shortened and occurrence of cavitation is restricted.SOLUTION: This invention relates to a self-priming pump comprising: a driving unit; a casing installed at one end side of the driving unit; an impeller having the first blades extending in a radial direction around a center of a base part, inclined in a counter-rotating direction and installed at a front edge of the base part and the second blades installed at a rear edge of the base part so as to connect adjacent relative first blades and formed with openings in a prescribed area at the base part and rotated by the driving unit; the first plate in which an end surface facing against the impeller is formed with each of substantial U-shaped transferring grooves, having suction holes and installed at an intake chamber at counter-driving part in the impeller; the second plate having a discharging hole and installed at a discharging chamber at the driving unit in the impeller; and a counter-flow prevention mechanism for preventing the press-transmitted fluid from reversing to flow toward the intake chamber.
