Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve self-priming performance during a self-priming operation of a pump, without deteriorating discharge performance during normal operation of the pump.SOLUTION: A self-priming pump 10 is equipped with a pump case 12; an impeller case 22 disposed in the pump case 12; and an impeller 40 disposed in a vortex chamber 38 in the impeller case 22. The impeller case 22 is provided with a first opening 26 which makes priming in the pump case 12 into the vortex chamber 38, and a second opening 27 which makes a mixture of the priming and air flow out from the vortex chamber 38 into the pump case 12. On an inner surface of an outer peripheral wall 23 of the impeller case 22, a first projection 48A is provided. A surface 49 of the first projection 48A to which the priming collides is positioned in a center area R2 obtained by dividing a first outer peripheral wall part 23a from an angle position P1 corresponding to the first opening 26 and an angle position P2 corresponding to the second opening 27 along a flowing direction of the priming about a rotary shaft 45 of the impeller 40, circumferentially into three equal sections.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
