PURPOSE: To improve the self-pumping performance and the operating performance by making the inner diameter of a guide vane shorter than the diameter of the inlet part of a gide vane blade so as to reduce the area of a circulation water passage and stagnant of self-pumped working flow between the guide vane and the blade.
CONSTITUTION: Guide vanes 3 are attached to a pump casing 1 as that the vanes surround a scroll-type impeller 2. The inner-diameter part 3a of each of the guide vents 3 is set smaller than the diameter of the inlet part of each guide vane blades 4, whereby reducing the area of a circulation water passage and stagnant of self-pumped working flow of air and water mixture between the guide vane and the blade. Stagnant flow and circulation flow will then be reduced so that the self-pumping performance and the pump operating performance can be improved. In such constitution, a rib 5 which continues from the inner end of each of the guide vanes 4 and is lower than said blade 4 is provided inside each of the guide vanes 4 so that the effect of the reduction in inner diameter of each of the vanes 3 can be improved.
