Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a self-service terminal capable of reducing illegal accesses to a card processing means in the terminal.
SOLUTION: A shutter mechanism 40 for a self-sevice transaction includes a hollow cylindrical shutter 42 having a slot 46. The shutter 42 can be rotated around a core member 44 from a position on which the slot 46 is aligned and opened to the slot 24 of a card entry in the terminal up to a position on which the slot 46 is aligned to a supply route 90 for supplying a card 70 to a reader/ writer 94. The core member 44 is provided with a slot 78 and card feeding rollers 60, 62. When the card 70 is reversely supplied after processing, the shutter 42 is rotated from the closed position up to the opened position where a user can take out the card 70. Thus the shutter structure can prevent the generation of an illegal access to the card reader/writer 94 through the slot 24 of the card entry in the terminal.
