Abstract:
To provide a self-supporting film for delivery of a therapeutic agent which requires no support of a medical device, and shows an enhanced therapeutic agent content.
The self-supporting multilayer film includes: a first layer containing at least one hydrophobic polymer; and a second layer containing at least one water-soluble therapeutic agent. At least the one hydrophobic polymer is selected from the group composed of aliphatic polyesters, polyhydroxyalkanoates, polyorthoesters, polyurethanes, polyacid anhydrides, polymer drugs and combinations thereof.
