Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a self-supporting sheet-like article used as wrapping films for high speed packaging machine by applying the corona discharge and an aerosol on the substrate surface at the same time and forming uniformly and firmly adhering antistatic coating.

CONSTITUTION: The self-supporting sheet-like article is prepared by applying the corona discharge (preferably at a alternating voltage of 5,000-25,000 V) and an aerosol (preferably aqueous solution or dispersed solution of an antistatic agent such as a tertiary ammonium compound sprayed by a two-components spray nozzle or a piezoelectric ultrasonic atomizer) at the same time on at least one surface of the substrate (preferably a low electric conductivity material containing inert inorganic particles) to form the antistatic coating.
