Title:
SELF SUPPORTING TYPE BOTTLE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH1143127
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make deformation resulting from a heat sterilization process less without a crystallization process, by forming from resin being resin composition which comprises polyethylene terephthalate and polyethylene naphthalate which contains a particular amount of ethylene naphthalate unit and having specific characteristics. SOLUTION: In a plastic bottle produced by biaxial stretching blow molding, a plurality of legs 2 bulging out down from its bottom having a curved face are arranged at almost regular intervals in its peripheral direction. The composition of the bottle consists of polyester resin composition comprising polyethylene terephthalate and polyethylene naphthalate which contains ethylene naphthalate at a component ratio of 5-15 mol.% to the total of them and has an ester exchange rate of 5-30% and an intrinsic viscosity of 0.70 (dl/g) or higher. Thus, a self-supported type bottle which is excellent in moldability, has less deformation resulting from a heat sterilization process, and is also excellent in heat- pressure resistance can be obtained.
