Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a self-venting drain valve that is relatively simple and low priced, wherein a single gasket seals not only a movable valve member at its closed position, but also the whole valve in a vessel itself.
CONSTITUTION: A gasket 15 functions as a seat 16 of a valve head 35 of a valve member 30 screwed into a rivet nut 20. When the valve member 30 is opened, the valve head 35 moves upward from the gasket 15, to allow the air to enter a vessel 12 through one passage 45 of the valve member 30, and to enable the liquid to be discharged from the vessel 12 through another passage 46 of the valve member 30.
