To provide a self-propulsion test method of a water jet propelled ship capable of obtaining two self-propulsion factors of the wake ratio and the thrust reduction ratio in an experimental and analytical manner in a tank test to obtain the self-propulsion elements of the water jet propelled ship.
In the self-propulsion test to obtain the self-propulsion factors of a water jet propelled ship, the self-propulsion test is carried out by using two or more nozzles in which the ejection area of a water jet propeller. Two or more equations are simultaneously formed from the measured values at the same ship speed and the same pump inlet flow speed ratio obtained in the self-propulsion test while the thrust reduction ratio and the wake ratio are unknown factors.
