To provide a selling space planning support system capable of forming an efficient selling space plan based on prediction by hypothesizing and setting various sales fluctuation factors of commodities in a selling space, accumulating traffic line data as purchasing actions of visitors, and verifying and analyzing the relationship between the both to perform a sales prediction.
This support system comprises a hypothesis setting means 10 for setting the sales fluctuation factors; a traffic line measurement means 12 for measuring the movements of the visitors in the selling space; a data accumulation means 14 for accumulating the traffic line data measured by the traffic line measurement means and sales data; a comparison/verification means 16 for comparatively verifying the difference between the hypothesis set by the hypothesis setting means and the traffic line data measured by the traffic line measurement means; an analysis means 18 for analyzing the relationship between the sales data and traffic line data accumulated in the data accumulation means; a sales prediction means 20 for predicting the sales from the result analyzed by the analysis means; and a factor presentation means 22 for presenting a factor corresponding to the content predicted by the prediction means.
