Title:
SEMI-SUBMERGED TYPE CATAMARAN
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS6076493
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To reduce vibration and noise transmitted to a living quarter, by providing such an arrangement that the upper structure of a semi-submerged catamaran is divided into a main hull section and a living quarter, and by supporting the living quarter to the main hull section through a vibration damper such as, for example, a pneumatic bag.

CONSTITUTION: The upper structure of a semi-submerged catamaran is composed, separately, of a main hull section 2 including, for example, an engine room disposed therein with vibration sources such as, for example, a main engine, accessories, a propeller, etc. and a living quarter 3 including passenger's compartments, etc. The living quarter 3 is supported to the main hull section 2 through the intermediary of an air cushion section 4, etc. With this arrangement, vibration and noise, etc. generated from the main hull section 2 are isolated by the air cushion 4 so that a comfortable living quarter may be ensured.
