Title:
SEMICONDUCTIVE ZIRCONIA SINTERED COMPACT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3261065
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inexpensively obtain a sintered compact capable of dissipating static electricity at a moderate rate without considerably deteriorating the mechanical properties inherent in zirconia and having a specific volume resistivity, by adding each specific amount of the respective oxides of Fe, Co, Ni and/or Cr as electroconductivity-imparting agent to stabilizer-contg. ZrO2 followed by conducting a sintering which is allowed in an oxidative atmosphere.
SOLUTION: This sintered compact is obtained by sintering a mixture of 60-90 wt.% of stabilizer-contg. ZrO2 and 10-40 wt.% of an electroconductivity- imparting agent. The volume resistivity of this sintered compact is 105-109 Ω.cm. The major material ZrO2 to be used has been partially stabilized with such a stabilizer as Y2O3, MgO, CaO or CeO2. The amounts of these stabilizers to be used, based on the ZrO2, are as follows: Y2O3: 3-9 mol.%, MgO: 16-26 mol.%, CaO: 8-12 mol.%, and CeO2: 1-16 mol.%.
