PURPOSE: To reduce the influence of time to be required for carrying digit by connecting a circuit for always adding one count to the value of an n-bit timer counter and latching and inputting the added value to a timer data register.

CONSTITUTION: This device is provided with the circuit 2 capable of adding one count to the value of the n-bit timer counter 1, the timer data register 3 capable of latching the value obtained by adding one count at the same clock as the counter 1 and a multiplexer 4 for selecting the values of the counter 1 and the register 3. Consequently the influence of time to be required for carrying digit can be reduced in the timer counter with many bits.
