Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a highly reliable semiconductor current controller by bringing the coefficient of thermal expansion as close as possible among the members.
CONSTITUTION: A terminal block 11 comprises a main electrode terminal, i.e., an emitter terminal 15a, a collector terminal 15b, an insulation plate 20, a gate terminal 17, auxiliary gate terminals 18, 19, and rubber caps 21a, 21b for keeping airtightness of a space under the terminal block wherein the terminals are bonded to a case 12 through a hard resin 14a. A metal base 13 is screwed to the case using embedded nuts 23a, 23b and an adhesive and collars 22a-22d are employed in order to use long bolts for securing a semiconductor current controller 1 to an outer heat plate. Since the material of heat dissipation base has a coefficient of thermal expansion 1-3 times as high as that of the semiconductor current control element and thermal conductivity of 100W/mK or above, a semiconductor current controller having undeteriorating durability can be obtained.
