Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor disk device that can be accessed normally by a host computer even if an error occurs in a header part.
SOLUTION: The semiconductor disk device 100 is equipped with a host interface 510 which sends and receives data to and from a host computer 550, a buffer memory 530 which temporarily store data, a microcontroller 520, a nonvolatile storage medium 540 which consists of a user block area, a spare block area and an alternative information area composed of spare block information and which is read and written, block by block, and a header control part 160 which writes information of the same block to the headers of respective sectors of blocks. Even if an error has occurred in one header part, whether an error has occurred or not, can be confirmed by using information of other header parts.
