Abstract:
To provide a light source device which has high output and a long lifetime and is superior in reliability while suppressing the increases of mounting area and cost.
The light source device 20 includes VCSEL arrays 24a, 24b and 24c where a plurality of parallel-connected VCSELs 22 are formed, and substrates 26a, 26b and 26c on which the VCSEL arrays 24a, 24b and 24c are mounted, wherein the VCSEL arrays 24a, 24b and 24c are connected in series by bonding wires 28a and 28b. Consequently, even if some VCSEL 22 gets out of order, other VCSELs 22 which operate normally allow the light source device 20 to continue to perform light emitting operation.
