Title:
SEMIPERMEABLE COMPOSITE MEMBRANE AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3438278
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve a separation function and the uniformity of a membrane by a method in which the surface of a micro-porous membrane, after being coated with the aqueous solution of a water-soluble compound having a specified number of functional groups in a molecule, is coated with the solution of a multifunctional reagent which can react with the water-soluble compound and additionally coated with the aqueous solution.
CONSTITUTION: In a semipermeable composite membrane which is made by coating a micro-porous support membrane with an ultrathin membrane, the surface of the microporous membrane (e.g. a polysulfone membrane) is coated with the aqueous solution of a water soluble compound having two or more functional groups in a molecule (e.g. methaphenylene diamine). The microporous membrane is coated with the solution (solvent: e.g. heptane) of a multifunctional reagent which can react with the water soluble reagent (e.g. trimethinic chloride) and additionally coated with the aqueous solution of a water soluble compound having two or more functional groups in a molecule. As a result, the salt-removing ratio of the membrane is improved by 0.3% or more as compared with conventional composite membranes, thereby giving a semipermeable membrane with improved uniformity.
