Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the water penetrability of a semipermeable membrane and manufacture a membrane of high selective penetrability by providing sulfonic acid and a functional group of specified structure as a semipermeable membrane.
SOLUTION: Sulfonic acid is introduced into an asymmetrical membrane or a composite semipermeable membrane provided with a reactive group such as epoxy or aziridine and manufactured preliminarily. A semipermeable membrane based on a formula thus provided (In the formula, -R1 represents -HO, -NH2 or the like, -R2 represents a hydrogen atom or a substituent or a non-substituent aliphatic group or an aromatic group, M represents hydrogen ions or metal anodic ions, (n) represents an integer of 1 or more.) is provided with high selectivity and also high water penetrability. The semipermeable membrane is composed of polyamide and a composite semipermeable membrane consisting of a separating function layer and a microporous supporting membrane. The semipermeable membrane is manufactured by reacting a compound, which reacts with sulfonic acid and a reactive group (for instance, one kind of epoxy, aziridine, episulfide, halogenated alkyl, amino and carboxylic acid) with the semipermeable membrane having the reactive group.
