Abstract:

PURPOSE: To ensure an accurate positioning at all times for the position of the tip height of the liquid sucking/jetting nozzle, by testing the level of the output of the photodetector when the lower end of the optical fiber goes into the cleansing solution in case the nozzle is cleansed.

CONSTITUTION: When the liquid sucking/jetting nozzle 11 is cleansed, a test is given whether the output of the photodetector 44 is within a range of necessary level at the moment or not when the lower end of the optical fiber 42 of the optical probe 12 as well as the nozzle 11 goes into the cleansing solution. For instance, the blood collected into the blood-collecting tube is separated into the upper and lower layers through centrifugation to obtain the blood serum and the blood ball. And the height of the lower end of the nozzle 11 which extracts and pours only the blood serum is detected by the optical probe 12 consisting of the optical fiber 42 inserted into the protecting tube 41, the projection element 43 and the photodetector 44 each. A periodical inspection is given to such probe 12 as mentioned above. And in case some fault is detected, the dirt on the lower end is cleared away. Then the test is given again.
