Abstract:
To provide a video compression system in a vehicle and a method therefor.
A digital video system for a vehicle, in particular for an automobile comprises: a video camera 120 mounted on the vehicle; one or more sensors 130-132 providing vehicle movement information indicating a current condition of movement of the vehicle; an optical flow estimation unit for estimating apparent motion of an object within a field of vision of the video camera 120 in accordance with the vehicle movement information; and a video encoder 110 adapted to compress video data distributed by the video camera 120 in accordance with the estimated apparent motion.
