Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To classify a dry battery by the main component thereof.
SOLUTION: A static magnetic field generation coil 1 is excited by feeding current from a direct current power-supply unit 3, and an exterior of a dry battery 5 is magnetically saturated with a static magnetic field generated by the coil 1. Under this condition, an eddy current is generated in the exterior and inside of the dry battery 5 by an electromagnetic induction type proximity sensor 2 and the change of the eddy current is detected. An output from the electromagnetic induction type proximity sensor 2 is measured by a signal converter 4, and the dry battery 5 is classified by the main component according to the difference of the output.
