Title:
SENSOR FOR ELECTRIC POWER STEERING
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS6418778
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To facilitate the detection of a torque difference between input and output shafts by providing a linkage for converting the tension variation in a chain for interconnecting the input and output shafts to a arcuate movement to connect a rotary type volume to one of a pair of links of the linkage. CONSTITUTION:Input and output shafts 2, 3 to which a steering force is transmitted are provided respectively with chain sprockets 2A, 3A over which a chain 4 is trained. A linkage 5 interlocked with tension variation in the chain 4 is provided and constituted from a pair of first links 5A, 5A and a second link 5B. A rotary type volume 6 is connected to one of first links 5A and on the other end to both ends of second link 5B. Also, rollers 5c rolling and bearing against the chain 4 are pivotably attached to both ends of second link 5B. A torque (difference is detected by a change in resistance value of the rotary type volume 6.
