PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sensor and a guide wire assembly, providing a smooth transition part by a portion for disposing a sensor element, and easily manufactured from the viewpoint of manufacture.
SOLUTION: This sensor and guide wire assembly includes: a core wire 1 having a distal end, a proximal end, and a plurality of expanded parts at the base end, the expanded part is provided with a sensor mounting member of a slot 11 form; and a sensor 12 provided on the sensor mounting member of the expanded part of the core wire, The sensor mounting member is substantially provided with a cylindrical member, the slot 11 is formed in the cylindrical member to store the sensor, and the side wall in the slot 11 is extended to a fixed distance above the top face of the sensor 12 to enough protect the sensor from mechanical interference.
