Title:
SENSOR SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DETECTING POSITION OF POINTER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2011003173
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a sensor system capable of detecting a position of a pointer no matter where in a sensing area the pointer is located, and a method for detecting the position of the pointer.

The sensor system comprises a sensing area 116, a reflecting mirror disposed at a dotted line 202, an image sensing device 110, and a processing circuit. The reflecting mirror indicates a mirror image of the pointer 102 that approaches the sensing area. When the pointer approaches the sensing area, the image sensing device senses the pointer and the mirror image. When the pointer approaches the sensing area, the processing circuit calculates a coordinate value of the pointer from the image sensed by the image sensing device and a planned size of the pointer. Here, the radius of a circular orthogonal projection of the pointer formed in the sensing area is the planned size of the pointer.
