Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems in conventional switches detecting the operation of a door knob such as those of contact-point contact type and a capacitance type wherein a contact point becomes defective due to aged deterioration and erroneous operation by rain water.
SOLUTION: A piezoelectric sensor 4 installed on a sensor unit is formed to be flexible so that it can be installed on the door knob 3, and it can detect the minute displacement of the door knob 3 with high sensitivity. Accordingly, since a sufficient signal output can be provided by merely touching the door knob 3, a touch on the door knob 3 can be detected. Further, since an electrode must not be exposed to the outside, the sensor is hard to be affected by disturbance, dirt adhered thereto, rain, and snow. Furthermore, the piezoelectric sensor 4 is less restricted by an installation place since it can be flexibly deformed and requires less installation space.
