This sensor unit 8 acting as a temperature detecting means for detecting the pot temperature of an electric rice cooker comprises a sensor cover 20 constituting the body, a sensor holder 21 provided within the sensor cover 20, a thermosensitive element 22 provided on the sensor holder 21, and a metallic sensor cap 23 mounted on the sensor cover 20 to cover the thermosensitive element 22, which forms a thermosensitive part. A space part 33 for arranging the tip part of an earth terminal 32 which makes contact with the inner surface of the sensor cap 23 is formed between the sensor cap 23 and the sensor holder 21, so that the electricity charged to the sensor cap 23 is grounded through the earth terminal 32.
