Abstract:
To reduce an installation space while maintaining pleasing appearance and improve mountability.SOLUTION: A sensor unit 20 for vehicles comprises: a millimeter wave radar device 21 for transmitting a millimeter wave to the outside of a vehicle and receiving a millimeter wave reflected at an object outside of the vehicle upon hitting it; an infrared sensor 22 arranged at a point adjacent to the millimeter wave radar device 21, for transmitting an infrared ray to the outside of the vehicle and receiving an infrared ray reflected at an object outside of the vehicle upon hitting it; and a cover 24 having a first cover part 27 located ahead of the millimeter wave radar device 21 in the direction of millimeter wave transmission, for hiding the millimeter wave radar device 21 and letting a millimeter wave pass through, and a second cover part 28 located ahead of the infrared sensor 22 in the direction of infrared ray transmission, for hiding the infrared sensor 22 and letting an infrared ray pass through. The millimeter wave radar device 21 and the infrared sensor 22 are attached to the cover 24, and the whole is constituted as one unit.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
