The motion detector 6 inputs a composite video signal Scomp, detects a motion quantity of the video signal, and outputs a motion detection signal S5 to the switches 5a and 5b. The switch 5a selects a filter having a wide filter band out of the band-pass filters 3-1 to 3-3 as color passing filters for a luminance signal as the motion quantity of the input video increases. The switch 5b selects a filter having a narrow filter band out of the band-pass filters 4-1 to 4-3 as color passing filters for a color signal as the motion quantity of the input video increases.
