Abstract:

PURPOSE: To separate 2-ethylnaphthalene from a mixture containing 1- ethylnaphthalene and 2-ethylnaphthalene.

CONSTITUTION: 2-Ethylnaphthalene is separated from a mixture containing ethylnaphthalene isomers by contacting the mixture with a faujasite zeolite. 2-Ethylnaphthalene can be separated in high purity at a low cost on an industrial scale from a mixture of ethylnaphthalene isomers with a relatively simple operation.
