Title:
SEPARATION AND CONCENTRATION OF SUPEROXIDE DISMUTASE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH01215284
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To enable the separation and concentration of the above compound useful as a food additive, etc., on an industrial scale at a low cost, by hemolyzing erythrocyte in water, etc., adjusting the pH, precipitating and separating foreign proteins such as hemoglobin, concentrating the supernatant liquid, again removing the precipitate and concentrating the supernatant liquid.

CONSTITUTION: Erythrocyte is hemolyzed in water or an aqueous solution of ethanol and the pH of the produced hemolysate is adjusted to ≤6.5 or ≥8.5. The hemolysate is left standing at room temperature for about 1hr and adjusted to pH7W8 to effect the precipitation of foreign proteins such as hemoglobin, which is separated by filtration. The obtained supernatant liquid is concentrated to separate the residual foreign proteins such as hemoglobin as a precipitate and the supernatant liquid is concentrated to recover the objective superoxide dismutase.
