Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a glass blank material for molding free from surface defects by decreasing the weight variations of the separated glass blank material for molding.
CONSTITUTION: Fused glass 3 heated and fused by a heater 2 for heating in a glass fusing crucible 1 is discharged from an orifice 4. The fused glass 3 flowing out of this orifice is drawn by drawing plates 7a, 7b provided below the orifice to form a drawing part, by which a glass gob is molded and the outside diameter of the glass gob is molded to a prescribed size by barrel type members 6a, 6b. The glass gob is separated in the above drawing part, by which the glass blank material for molding is obtd.
