Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To separate harmful substance from exhaust gas.
SOLUTION: The flow of exhaust gas is passed through the bed of a granular adsorbent to separate harmful substance. The bed consists of the mixture of granular high carbon concentration substance and granular inactive substance. Bulk density of inactive substance is (0.8-3) times of bulk density of carbon substance. Content of granular high carbon concentration substance in the bed desirably is (5-80) wt.%. The granular carbon substance with high concentration may be, for example, activated carbon, activated coke or coke of brown coal. For example, silicic acid-containing stone, pumice, lava, slag, glass solidification residue or granular ballast may be used for inactive substance.
