Title:
SEPARATION MEMBRANE FOR ORGANIC LIQUID MIXTURE, SEPARATING DEVICE AND METHOD USING THAT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3872576
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a separation membrane for an org. liquid mixture which is suitable for such a field of petroleum refining and petrochemical industry by forming fine pores having a specified range of average diameter in a separation membrane.
SOLUTION: The membrane distillation method is a membrane separation technique by which a component of a liquid mixture is selectively converted into an enriched vapor through a membrane having fine pores. The liquid mixture is supplied to the primary side of the membrane, while the secondary side of the membrane is evacuated or sucked by an inert gas or liquid such as nitrogen. The separation membrane used has fine pores having 0.5 to 50nm average pore diameter, preferably 0.5 to 20nm, more preferably 1 to 10nm and especially preferably 4 to 10nm. Thereby, high separation performance and membrane permeation rate can be obtd. by using the capillary condensation effect and the org. liquid mixture compsn. can be efficiently converted. This membrane separation technique is effective for petroleum refining process and petrochemical industry which require a large processing amt.
