Title:
SEPARATION OF POLYCYCLIC AROMATIC POLYMER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS6189215
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To effect the selective separation of the titled polymer, and to obtain debituminized oil, by adding a solvent selected from specific hydrocarbons or ketones to the thermal cracking residue of naphtha at a specific ratio, and rinsing the obtained slurry with a specific amount of rinsing solvent.

CONSTITUTION: A thermal cracking residue oil of naphtha having a boiling point of preferably ≥180°C and a specific gravity of 1.0W1.1 is mixed with one or more solvents selected from (A) 3W20C aliphatic or alicyclic hydrocarbons (e.g. n-hexane) and (B) 3W5C aliphatic or alicyclic ketone compounds (e.g. acetone), at a solvent ratio of 2W15 (weight of solvent/weight of stock oil), and is treated at 0W60°C to obtain a slurry containing separated heavy fraction. The slurry is filtered, and rinsed with the above solvent at 0W60°C at a solvent ratio of 1W15 (weight of the rinsing solvent/weight of stock oil), to effect the objective separation process. A debitumenized oil having low S-content and low viscosity can be obtained from the filtrate.
