Title:
SEPARATION AND PURIFICATION OF AMINO ACID
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0558972
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To separate and purify an amino acid high purity by contact filtration adsorption of an amino acid using a metal ion-coordinated resin having functional group.

CONSTITUTION: An aqueous amino acid solution is brought into contact with a metal ion-coordinated resin (e.g. carboxylic acid-type chelate resin) using a contact filtration absorption technique, at 0-100°C to effect adsorption of the amino acid to the resin. The amino acid thus adsorbed is eluted with e.g. ammonia water through e.g. centrifugal filtration, pressure filtration, thus separating and purifying the amino acid. This method is highly effective when treating such an aqueous solution that the content of an amino acid to be separated is at least equimolar, pref. ≥2 molar times the other impurity amino acid and/or impurity compounds. The amino acid thus purified can be used in wide applications such as food, feed, medicines, cosmetics, or industrial products.
