A method for separating radio active particles comprises flowing a fluid to be treated, containing the radio active particles, into a magnetized rotary tube, then magnetically attracting the particles to a magnetic pole provided in the tube to separate the particles from the fluid, further, after demagnetizing the magnetism in the tube, flowing a cleaning fluid backward into the tube to take the radio active particles together with the cleaning fluid from the tube and finally separating the radio active particles from the cleaning fluid.
