Abstract:

PURPOSE: To separate sennoside from crude drug of senna using a non-polar synthetic adsorbent resin having macro-network structure.

CONSTITUTION: Crude drug of senna is extracted with water, a water-containing organic solvent, or an amine-containing solvent, and the extract is adjusted to pH4.0W7.0, and passed through a rigid, water-insoluble, porous non-polar synthetic adbosbent resin having macro-network structure. The selectively adsorbed sennoside is eluted with a water-containing organic solvent and recovered.
