Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a method of effectively separating solid material from a water soluble mixture.
CONSTITUTION: When separating solid material particles from a mixture consisting of solid and liquid components, the mixture is filtered to form humidified filter cake, and to the filter cake, a suitable densification aid such as a flocculant such as gelatin solution of alginates or surfactant is added to promote densification packing of the filter cake and also to assist the removal of residual liquid caught in a clearance between the solid material particles.
