Abstract:

To obtain a thin separator excellently passing an oxygen gas produced when overcharging an alkaline secondary battery, suppressing a pressure rise in the battery, and causing no short-circuiting in it.

After rugged parts are formed on the surface of a non-woven fabric of a thermoplastic resin, a polyorefine based resin in particular, in advance, hydrophilization treatment is applied to the non-woven fabric to obtain this separator for the alkaline battery. The separator for the alkaline battery is not short-circuited when assembling it in the battery, and the battery having this separator built-in has an excellent internal pressure suppressing effect.
