Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a separator for an alkaline battery which can ensure, at the same time and at a high level, various properties required for the separator such as alkali resistance, compactness, liquid retainability, and electrical properties, while preventing internal short-circuiting.SOLUTION: There is provided a separator for separating an anode active material from a cathode active material in an alkaline battery. The separator has a structure in which a cellulose layer having a polymerization degree ranging from 400 to 1000 is formed by coating on a piece of base cloth made of alkali-resistance fiber.SELECTED DRAWING: None
