Abstract:
To provide a separator for an alkaline storage battery capable of overcoming the problems of properties of liquid injection of an alkaline electrolyte and tensile strength during winding even if a separator with the basis weight of 55 g/m2 or less is used, and attaining higher output.
A separator 10 for an alkaline storage battery is disposed between a negative electrode 20 and a positive electrode 30 of a spiral electrode group of an alkaline storage battery. The separator 10 has the basis weight of 55 g/m2 or less, a difference in hole diameter between the maximum hole diameter and the minimum hole diameter of 15 μm or less, and the tensile strength ratio of a long axis to a short axis of 1.5 or more and 5.0 or less.
