Abstract:
To provide an electrochemical element excellent in safety when temperature of a battery increases anomalously by a short circuit, overcharging, or the like.
A separator for the electrochemical element includes a porous base body 5 having heat resistance against a temperature not less than 150°C, filler particles 3, and a porous membrane including at least one kind of shutdown resin 6 selected from resin A with a melting point in a range 80-130°C, and resin B to swell absorbing an electrolyte by heating and to increase in swelling degree together with temperature increase. The filler particle 3 preferably contains boehmite. The shutdown resin 6 preferably contains the resin B.
